Living in the Philippines is For You If You Want a Care-Free Lifestyle

By Aaron Magdangal

If you're an American and want to retire in a place with a low cost of living, then living in the Philippines is a great option for you. When you live in the Philippines, you'll quickly discover that people are different from what you may think. Rarely will you meet people who are sulking and complaining all the time. But rather, Filipinos are mostly happy-go-lucky, very friendly and accommodating. When you visit the Philippines for the first time, you may be suddenly shocked at how different it is from what most people imagine a third world country to be. Life tends to be a lot more relaxed and easy-going in the Philippines. The entire country operates at a much slower pace and a more relaxed attitude towards life, work and love. If one of your priorities is to quit the rat race and retire to a country with white sand beaches, a low cost of living and not to mention very beautiful women, then living in the Philippines is the best place where you can do that.

Think about something for a quick minute: how far can you go with $1,000 in the United States? If you live in a major city like New York, then that will barely cover apartment rentals for one person in a month. On the other hand, $1,000 can go a very long way in the Philippines -- if you're smart about it, you could have a very comfortable, even extravagant, life living in the Philippines. How? You have to remember that the average monthly income for a family of two adults would only be $250 per month. Your $1,000 would be putting you in the top 20% income bracket. If you make more than $1,000 per month, then trust me when we say this: you will be like a king living in the Philippines.

It would be very possible for you to hire household help like a maid, a driver AND a babysitter. Imagine waking up every morning and having someone else prepare your meals for you. Imagine coming home on a Friday after work with your clothes clean and pressed, ready for you to tackle the weekend. Not to mention, imagine having a driver to drive you around anywhere you want to go. In the United States, it would be impossible to even dream about that sort of lifestyle on $1,000 per month -- you can only get that type of lifestyle when you live in the Philippines.

The Philippines have plenty of things to offer an American man looking for a great escape to a paradise in the tropics. Beaches and an overall care-free lifestyle will be yours. While many people will struggle to fulfill their dreams and continue to wonder "what if?" you could be living a completely different lifestyle than them. Living in the Philippines is the ultimate dream for many people, so don't be afraid to go for it.
